2011 Elddis Crusader Cyclone
The 2011 Elddis Crusader Cyclone is a gorgeous caravan with all the features people often request - island bed, tandem axle, big fridge, high end upholstery, tinted windows… this example even has caravan movers, a solar panel and a self tracking satellite dish.
The customer stated that they had opened a front window, tightened the arms to hold the window open and… the window closed itself!
Clearly something was seriously awry with the front wall, so we were asked to investigate…

The root cause of the issue - the sealant has failed behind the window rails, allowing water in and destroying the timber inside.

With the window seals removed the damage is much more severe. The gap behind the window rail is much more noticeable from this angle.

Remnants of what was the front wall...

With the front fascia removed the damage is much more significant. The off-side window opening is completely missing and the centre window opening isn't far behind. Signs of water ingression around the front pull handles are apparent too.

From another angle, the damage is quite extensive.

The damaged off-side window opening now removed, exposing the damaged bulkhead.

Window openings and bulkhead removed.

Test fitting the new treated window openings and bulkhead.

New wall lining installed on the new front window openings, as well as a new bulkhead fitted.

Front fascia being reinstalled.

We have an in-house 3D printer, which makes replacing the expensive Jokon PLR2000 marker lights with modern Hella LED marker lights a much easier proposition.

Further fitting of the front fascia including the grab handles, LED marker lamps, the front windows and the roof strip.

Job complete!

From inside, the front wall looks just as good as it did in 2011.
